There are many ways to donate. You can volunteer your time, give a one-time or recurring financial donation, organize group donations in collaboration with another organization or community, or even sponsor a donation event.

Financial donations


In making a financial gift, no matter how you choose to give, every dollar will make a difference in our efforts to improve outcomes for Canadian patients.

Blood


Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who needs it. The need is constant. A timely transfusion of blood can be the lifesaving difference.

Plasma


Plasma is the protein-rich liquid in our blood responsible for circulating blood cells and platelets throughout our bodies. For many patients with a wide range of diseases, plasma can save or improve their lives.

Stem cells


Fewer than 25 per cent of recipient patients who need stem cell transplants find a compatible donor in their own family. The rest must rely on the sincere generosity of unrelated donors who have committed to being part of Canada’s lifeline.

Organ & tissues


One organ donor can save up to eight lives; tissue and eye donors can improve the lives of up to 75 more. Register to become a donor. Talk to your loved ones about organs and tissue donation and encourage them to register as well.

Cord blood


Cord blood is rich with blood-forming stem cells that can help cure over 80 types of diseases and disorders saving the lives of patients with leukemia, lymphoma, aplastic anemia and other inherited immune disorders.
